Drone mapping software is priced in very different ways: free tiers, monthly subscriptions, processing credits, per-model fees and desktop licenses. This page lists the published 2026 prices for the main options, checked on each vendor's own site, and the costs a price tag leaves out.

How we compared

We make DataDelivery, so it appears in this list. For each tool we read the vendor's own pricing page and noted the published price, how it is billed, how processing is charged, and how many users a plan covers. Where a vendor does not publish a price, we say to contact that vendor rather than estimate one. We did not test processing speed or output quality.

Free tiers vs free trials

A free tier keeps working within its limits. A free trial ends after a set number of days. Both help you test a tool, but only a free tier lets you keep using it without paying.

Free tiers

  • DataDelivery Free plan: 1 new job a month, 2 captures per job, 1 processing run a day, 25 GB of storage, client sharing and no-login links. No credit card.
  • Maps Made Easy: 3 free maps per 24 hours, 1 free processing gigapixel, and up to 50 images per map.
  • Agisoft Cloud: 50 GB of storage and 20 processing hours, renewed each month. Processing needs Metashape Professional installed with a valid license key; trial and educational licenses count.
  • SkyeBrowse Freemium: 2 concurrent models, a 30-day archive, drawing, distance and annotation tools, and image walkthroughs, with no exports.
  • WebODM: free, open-source software (AGPL-3.0) that you install and run yourself. It has free installers for Windows and macOS (the macOS installer sets it up with Docker), and runs on Linux with Docker. It is a third-party project.

Free trials

  • DroneDeploy: a 14-day free trial, no credit card required.
  • Pix4D: a free 15-day plan, no credit card required.
  • Birdi: a 7-day free trial on Plus.
  • Propeller: 14 days to see your own data in Propeller; processing is not included in the trial.
  • DataDelivery: no time-limited trial. Begin on the Free plan instead, with no credit card.

Subscriptions, credits, per-map and one-time licenses

Drone mapping tools charge in five main ways. Check which one you are paying for before you compare the numbers.

  • Flat plans: DataDelivery plans are a flat monthly or yearly price with no per-seat fees. Every plan, including Free, includes daily NDS Processing runs; higher plans include more.
  • Subscription plus processing credits: PIX4Dcloud Starter includes 40 credits a month on monthly billing, or 500 a year on yearly billing. Pro includes 200 a month, or 2,500 a year.
  • Per gigapixel, per map or per model: Maps Made Easy plans include a cost per processing gigapixel: $0.36 on Base, $0.25 on Pro and $0.18 on Elite. WebODM Lightning Starter includes 12 maps per 30 days, then you pay per map. SkyeBrowse charges per model: $24.99 on Commercial and $49.99 on Pro.
  • Desktop licenses: Metashape Standard ($179) and Professional ($3,499) are node-locked licenses. DJI Terra Standard costs $1,850 for a yearly subscription or $5,280 permanent, and Flagship costs $3,700 a year or $10,580 permanent.
  • Priced by revenue: RealityScan is free if your revenue is under $1 million (USD), then $1,250 per seat per year.

The scope differs. These plans do not include the same processing limits, storage or features, so the seat count is only part of the comparison. Not every tool charges per seat: PIX4Dcloud includes unlimited users. For more on this, see DroneDeploy alternatives without per-seat fees.

Costs the price tag leaves out

  • A computer that can run it: desktop tools process on your own hardware. DJI Terra needs Windows 10 or later (64-bit) and an NVIDIA graphics card. RealityScan needs an NVIDIA CUDA GPU to build models.
  • Credits and processing limits: plans cap processing in different ways: credits on PIX4Dcloud, gigapixels on Maps Made Easy and Birdi, maps per 30 days on WebODM Lightning Starter, and processing runs per day on DataDelivery. Check the cap against how often you fly.
  • Hosting and client delivery: if you process on a desktop, you still need a place to keep the finished maps and a way for clients to open them. A drone client portal handles that step.
  • Your branding: if clients see your deliverables, check which plan adds your logo. In DataDelivery you can put your own logo on client-facing pages and emails, starting on the Basic plan, and deliver from your own domain on Premium and Enterprise.
  • Mac compatibility: DJI Terra is not compatible with macOS, and RealityScan lists no macOS version. If you work on a Mac, see drone mapping software for Mac.

How to choose by situation

  • Best for small maps on a small budget: Maps Made Easy, with a free tier and Base at $5 a month.
  • Best for desktop processing on a low budget: Metashape Standard, a $179 node-locked license, or RealityScan, free if your revenue is under $1 million (USD).
  • Best for teams that want unlimited users on a cloud plan: PIX4Dcloud, which includes unlimited users on Starter, Pro and Enterprise.
  • Best if you already have a Windows PC with an NVIDIA graphics card: DJI Terra or RealityScan, which both need one.
  • Best for stockpile volumes only: Stockpile Reports, from a free Personal tier to Business plans priced by the number of piles.
  • Best for running your own processing for free: WebODM, if you can install and run it yourself.
  • Best for small DSPs who process and deliver in one browser tool: DataDelivery, starting on the Free plan.

How much does drone mapping software cost?

It ranges from free tiers to several thousand dollars a year. As of October 8, 2026, Maps Made Easy Base costs $5 a month, Birdi Plus $60 a month billed annually, and DroneDeploy Flight & Analysis $4,188 billed annually. Desktop software ranges from RealityScan, free if your revenue is under $1 million (USD), to $10,580 for a permanent DJI Terra Flagship license. DataDelivery has a Free plan and paid plans you can pay monthly or yearly.

What is the cheapest drone mapping software?

It depends on what you need. Of the paid cloud plans on this page, Maps Made Easy Base has the lowest published monthly price: $5 a month or $50 a year, as of October 8, 2026. Maps Made Easy, Agisoft Cloud and SkyeBrowse also have free tiers with limits, and WebODM is free if you install and run it yourself.

Are there monthly plans for drone mapping software?

Yes. Maps Made Easy, PIX4Dcloud, PIX4Dmatic and Birdi Plus all list monthly prices, and DataDelivery's paid plans can be paid monthly or yearly. DroneDeploy says individual licenses can pay monthly but shows only annual prices. The WebODM Lightning, Birdi Growth and DJI Terra subscription prices on this page are billed yearly.

Is any drone mapping software free?

Yes, within limits. WebODM is free and open source if you run it yourself, and Maps Made Easy, Agisoft Cloud, SkyeBrowse and DataDelivery have free tiers.
